Yaphank Garage

Yaphank, N.Y. It is hard to find any information on this garage other than the obvious so I can't tell you much about it. It certainly is nice to see a historic building like this though.

Parasols of Las Vegas

Having just completed a trip to the Wynn in Las Vegas Nevada all I can say is wow. This is a place you have to visit if you are in the neighborhood. Just try to keep money in your pocket, I dare you. Here is a photo of the Parasol Down Lounge in the Wynn. Click the title or Read More to see this photo.

Church of St Patrick

The over-sized stained glass windows of this church located in Huntington, New York make it quite an impressive sight. To the rear is a massive pipe organ. Unfortunately, it was not being played while we were there.

Sweeties

These days it is far more common to go to the over-sized super market or the giant retailer to get everything that we need. That is why it is so refreshing to find the little bakery, or in this case, the candy store.

A store where people do just one thing and strive to do it great. Sadly, this is quickly becoming lost in our modern and far too busy society.

We strolled the aisles and found unique candy and novelties and were greeted by a friendly face. We watched as the owner and her assistant poured chocolate into molds behind the counter. It makes me remember why it is so important (and rewarding) to support our local businesses.

Thanks to the staff at Sweeties Candy Cottage, Huntington, NY.
